Alan Weiss does the Marvel Family

Here's the April 1978 cover of THE AMAZING WORLD OF DC COMICS. This was a lightweight house promotional magazine that sometimes featured some good art or a decent interview but it was never something you need to track down and buy whatever the cost. Alan Weiss did okay art but he had one trait that got on my nerves. He drew the heroes with this depraved, inane grin. Maybe it was just the way he drew mouths but every page would show a character we were supposed to like, sporting this leer. You can see it on Captain Marvel here. It was something that ruined his art for me.
