Get to know your Goodies (for your own sake)

This page is from a 1975 book called THE GOODIES FILE by Bill oddie, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden. The book itself is not a history or guide to the show, rather a collection of bizarre gags and non-sequiters guaranteed to make you say to yourself, "What the...?" Rather like the show itself. I only watched the series itself once, whenPBS ran it after everyone had seen Monty Python a dozen times. It was a very !970s show. Not just in its clothing and hair, but its very sense of humor and pacing. The sight gags are not convincing at all, but they are funny (which is more important). A half-hour spent on YouTube just now with Kitten Kong and Ecky-Thump reminds this just how odd this show was.
